Flinders University - Department of Public Health
The Department of Public Health is part of the Medical School of the Faculty of Health Sciences at Flinders University. It aims to promote health and healthy environments in Australia and overseas by advocating for and advancing multi-disciplinary public health research, teaching and practice. Flinders also offer a professional doctorate award, the Doctor of Public Health.

The department is co-located with the South Australian Community Health Research
Unit (SACHRU).
Strategic Directions are to:
• Develop public health doctoral and post-doctoral training
• Food and Nutrition Policy/Research
• Social, economic and locational determinants of health
• Healthy Settings/Primary Health Care (influence research infrastructure
and priorities)
• Collaborative teaching models
• Evaluation methodologies (strong links with South Australian Community
Health Research Unit)
• Health Promotion, especially Mental Health Promotion and Drugs and
Public Health.
