Menzies School of Health Research
Menzies School of Health Research is an independent research organisation based in Darwin that is focused on Indigenous, tropical and remote health issues in Northern Australia and the near region. We also have a unit in Alice Springs. Our research activities span the range of basic science (molecular and microbiological), clinical, health services, and population health. This allows us to take a programmatic approach to priority health problems in our defined area of interest.
MSHR is the centre agent for the Cooperative Research Centre for Aboriginal
Health. There are 11 other core partners from government and non-government
health services and the university sector in several jurisdictions.
Menzies School of Health Research carries out health research and education
of relevance to northern and central Australia, and nearby regions. The School
is committed to:
• excellence in research to advance health knowledge
• excellence in scholarship and teaching about health
• the equitable use of knowledge and resources to improve health
