Teaching and Learning forum 2007 - Alice Springs

From the 26th September to 27th September the Australian Network of Academic Public Health Institutions (ANAPHI) held their second Teaching and Learning Forum. The forum was held at the Alice Springs covention centre and was an opportunity to showcase diverse and innovative teaching and learning activities in the area of public health education at a tertiary level.

The 2007 Teaching and Learning Forum aimed to build on the first forum which was held in November 2006 in Melbourne. The Teaching and Learning Forum had two parallel sessions, one of which was devoted to Indigenous Public Health Teaching and Learning. The Indigenous sessions were hosted by Onemda VicHealth Koori Health Unit (University of Melbourne) and the Institute for Koori Education (Deakin University) who together manage the PHERP Indigenous Public Health Capacity Development Project.

The primary aim of the conference was to share knowledge, experience and ideas around teaching and learning in public health education in the tertiary sector in Australia. Drawing on state, national and international learning’s, the forum brought together 40 diverse individuals from varying backgrounds including academia, industry and government.
